The description here makes it sound as if this section goes through the gorge. That's not the case. This is the lower access path to the Margaretenschlucht gorge from Neckargerach, about two meters wide, offering beautiful views over the Neckar Valley.

Now in summer (July 2025) it's heavily overgrown. The marked path is on the other side of the stream.

It is a tufa waterfall that was formed by the deposition of lime from the water of the Kirnau.

It was truly impressive and the best experience of our five Neckarsteig tours so far. Accessibility is different.

Crossing the stream in the Margaretenschlucht Gorge is a beautiful moment on the hike. The small stream that winds through the gorge can be bridged or crossed using small stones in some places. It's an idyllic part of the hike that further enhances the nature experience.

The trail can be slippery and steep, so don't forget sturdy footwear. On hot days, the shady path offers pleasant refreshment. The view at the end of the tour is definitely a highlight.

Crossing the stream in the Margaret Gorge is a small adventure! Several spots along the trail lead directly over the stream, and these crossings are charming and natural. We recommend wearing waterproof or sturdy footwear for a comfortable and safe crossing. These small challenges make the hike through the gorge even more exciting and enhance the experience of being in the wild.
