Many ponds are in slight depressions. They are fed by small streams from the fields. Too much nitrogen then enters the water with the water. This leads to a lot of algae forming and the water turns green. Swimming is no longer allowed there. The ponds are then only used as fire ponds. This body of water is not in a depression and therefore does not have any algae forming. The body of water is privately owned and fenced off for legal reasons (liability, insurance, etc.).

Here at the local swimming pond there is a very nice rest area with lots of seating. However, nothing is covered.

We found the trail ok, our bikes were well loaded and the days before weren't dry either. We drove downhill.
