The Hohenlandsberg castle ruins are the remnants of the former Hohenlandsberg castle. The castle was built in the 13th century. built. During the Peasants' War in 1525, the castle was taken unscathed by the farmers. In 1554 the castle was destroyed. You have to like it or it also depends on the weather. Once it gets a bit wet, this trail gets extremely slippery. I would rate the difficulty as S1 from the grotto. The grotto itself is definitely a highlight. The trail is conditionally suitable for beginners.

Exciting little trail. It's fun, but not without it. You should have a good command of your MTB and the brakes. In the upper area steep and blocked, so that there is a bit of alpine feeling. Not for gravel bikes.

Absolutely a mountain bike highlight at the beginning, very steep and rocky, not recommended in wet conditions

The castle, presumably founded in the 13th century, was not the ancestral seat of the Franconian-Bohemian noble family of the barons of Schwarzenberg-Hohenlandsberg, but a castle of the Hohenlohe, who exercised their bailiwick over the possessions of the Würzburg Dompropstei around Seinsheim from here. In the 15./16. In the 19th century, the castle was the administrative center of the Schwarzenberg rule of Hohenlandsberg, which in Seinsheim and the surrounding area the tithes (= high jurisdiction) and the authorities over the villages of Weigenheim, Seinsheim, Iffigheim, Herrnsheim, the predominant village rule in Bullenheim, shares in the village rule in Hüttenheim and Nenzenheim as well as presumably owned the large village of Dornheim. Source: Main Post .... In 1898 it was built from boulders by Valentin Gast, master carpenter in Goßmannsdorf. It is located on the footpath to the fields, vineyards and quarries on the mountain above Goßmannsdorf, to invite you to pause in prayer. Over the years, the grotto has been exposed to the elements and has been left to decay. In 1979, the Goßmannsdorf fire brigade, under the leadership of its commanding officer Albin Deppisch, took the initiative to renovate the dilapidated grotto from scratch, with the help of Goßmannsdorf residents. The newly erected figures of saints in the niches of the grotto are: a Madonna figure, a Sacred Heart figure and the patron of the fire brigade, Saint Florian. Citizens from Goßmannsdorf donated this figure. On June 23, 1979, Pastor Oswald Simon inaugurated the renovated mountain grotto in the presence of Mayor Karl Remling and the city councilors, framed by the music band and the song board. At the moment a solemn May devotion, organized by the women's group, takes place at the mountain grotto. The tradition is continued and the mountain grotto with the beautiful view of Goßmannsdorf and Ochsenfurt still invites you to prayer and linger.

Very steep path to the grotto, a short stretch over rocks, almost like in the Alps.

One of the most beautiful mountain bike spots in the area! Blocked at the beginning, then flowing and steep. Maybe just run off before the first departure. And be careful when wet!
