Today only the round foundation wall of the Bothkamp historical observatory can be seen. Built in 1869 by landowner Friedrich Gustav von Bülow it was operated until 1914.

In August better bring a machete or long clothes;-) the stinging nettles are difficult to penetrate...easily passable with tires from approx. 32-35 mm and a little profile.

Unfortunately, Gut Bothkamp is privately owned and not open to the public. The white manor house can be seen from the other side of the Bothkamper See. https://www.herrenhaus-bothkamp.de/gut-bothkamp/

Unfortunately, the "castle" is not open to the public. All photos are of the metal gate at the entrance. A neo-Gothic country house was built at the end of the 19th century on the so-called Pferdeberg hill on the steep eastern shore of Lake Belauer. In the 1920s, it was popular as a "castle restaurant."
