Driving along the Main is always nice

The cypress lake is part of the English landscape park in the castle park. Originally circular, it has silted up and grown over in many places over the years. In the middle of the cypress lake, the bald cypress tree, which was probably planted by Count Alexander, has still been preserved today. Bald cypress trees actually come from southeastern North America and can grow up to 35 meters tall. This bald cypress is estimated to be around 100 years old. This is still a very young age for the tree, as bald cypresses can live up to 1000 years. The bald cypress in the castle park is now around 23 meters high and has a trunk circumference of around 2 meters. In the cold season the tree does not make a good impression. Bald cypresses not only shed their needle leaves in autumn, but also entire branches. The Princess Bath The banks of the Prinzessinnenbad once served as a romantic seating area that offered a view of forests and meadows. Hidden in the forest, on the edge of the park, is a small artificial lake. A few steps lead down to the water and the small meadow area in front of it is evidence of its former use as a bathing lake - which is probably why the name "Prinzessinnenbad" has been retained to this day.
