The island pond is part of the former park of the Hessen-Philippsthal family. Unfortunately, there's a lack of funds to improve the renovation. The kiosk is worth a visit, though. Delicious cakes.

There is a small natural barbecue area directly behind the island pond. At the edge of the forest you can refresh yourself with fresh spring water at a beautiful wooden fountain.

In summer the kiosk is open and you can take a break with a view of the lake the adjacent parking space is heavily frequented by motorhome drivers

From May to September, the community of Wildeck offers civil weddings on the Love Island, which can be reached via a footbridge. The island pond including the Love Island was created together with the park of the Blumenstein summer palace, which was built in 1770. Nice quiet place to stay.

With the Breitenbacher See, a fairly large area of water is available for water sports. Campers will find nice pitches here. The kiosk offers a wide selection from bratwurst to ice cream and cool drinks. Hikers and cyclists can explore the area around the lake.

The Love Island is located in the island pond in the Wildecker Valley. The island is easily accessible via a small wooden footbridge. In the middle of the island there is a stone that is a little mysterious. You look in vain for a statue on this stone and are surprised by the inscription on the stone "Quam rapuit invida mors restituta" - "That which envious death stole is here restored!" We recommend the small hut cafe (open on weekends and public holidays from O-O) right at the entrance to the island, where homemade cakes and small drinks can be purchased at reasonable prices.
