The hut is simple but charming, with a covered seating area that offers shelter from the rain and invites you to linger.

This "shelter" is a wonderful place to take a break or wait out a rain shower.

In the 1920s, the Friends of Nature built a magnificent guesthouse on the Himmerich hill in the Siebengebirge mountains. https://www.komoot.com/de-de/highlight/120459 The Nazi rulers stole it and demolished it. After the war, the Friends of Nature fought for a replacement and received the Blücher Mine House.

We stopped there and treated ourselves to some champagne. Can you sit well?

Mondays and Tuesdays are rest days

The hut is large enough that several people can shelter there in bad weather.

The pond in the Arentshain, as well as the area in the deep Eifgenwald with water, bridges, shelter, benches, water wheel and secured hiking trails, must be maintained every year. Unfortunately, this also includes picking up the remains (empty beer cans, drinks bottles, food scraps and paper waste) left by many hikers and mountain bikers around the shelter. It's a shame that many of the passers-by show so little consideration.

This hut invites you to take a break when the weather is not so nice.
