With summer temperatures and high humidity after a rainy low pressure system had passed through, I preferred to carry on walking 😂. The mosquitoes eat you alive - and not just in this shelter 🦟 .

The hut is slowly becoming overgrown, as you can see from the photo series. The name made me think of the Johanniter clinic in Bad Godesberg.

Beautiful, large shelter that offers us welcome shelter during an unexpected rain shower. The wooden man who "guards" the shelter is a worthwhile photo opportunity.

In addition to the Way of St. James towards Tier - the stage from Bonn to Rheinbach - there are also a number of local circular hiking trails that are managed by the Rhineland Nature Park. Clean and spacious protective hats on the pilgrimage route right at the turnoff to Gielsdorf.

I don't quite understand why the hut is called the Forest Hospital. But a hut is a hut and a good resting place. Opposite there is a birdhouse on a tree trunk.

A number of bird feeders were installed around the “forest hospital”.

Secluded and clean hut, good for a break.
