The "Mittleres Bruch" observation point is located directly on one of the most beautiful sections of the "Landtour Bückeburg" (Bückeburg Country Tour), as well as other popular cycling routes. From here, you have an uninterrupted view of the fascinating flora and fauna of the wet meadows and floodplains of the Bückeburg lowlands. With a little patience and luck, you can observe various, even rare, bird species "at work." A detailed information panel on "Bird Species" provides even non-experts with the necessary specialist knowledge. Tip: Bring binoculars and/or a camera with a suitably large telephoto lens! It's worth it. This will make your bike ride or hike a truly special experience.🍀🌟

The barn district in the Schlüsselburg district of Petershagen still comprises 26 barns that are built together in a very small space. During the Thirty Years' War there were repeated lootings and fires that hit the population hard. The close proximity of the buildings quickly led to the loss of all winter supplies in the event of a fire. At the beginning of the 17th century, people began to build storage barns outside the town in a flood-protected area. The barns, built close together, still form the unique panorama of the barn district today.

Radler-Rast Neuenbaum (Osterheider Str. 104/corner of Neuenbaumer Weg, 32479 Hille): Everyone who is out and about by bike should remember this address! A lovingly designed and exemplary equipped private bike station. People like to take a break here. When I passed here on Ascension Day in the afternoon, there were several groups of cyclists and it was really busy. And everyone was excited‼️👍😊

Scheunenviertel are special gems of rural building culture. Due to fear of devastating fires, most of the barns were built outside villages between 1700 and 1800 and offered space for stored goods and storage. Today, the individual barn quarters offer space for a wide variety of uses. From April to September, Thursday to Sunday and on public holidays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., there is the WandelBAR in the Scheunenviertel - a small sales cart with hot drinks, waffles and cakes. Barns outside the actual city area on the “Humke” can be found as early as the beginning of the 17th century. The lack of space (due to the close development of the place) and the recurring floods of the Weser and later the fire disasters probably caused the Schluesselburgers to store agricultural equipment, harvest supplies and seeds outside the farm. The Scheunenviertel, which still exists today in the Schlüsselburg district of Petershagen, is a rural cultural asset of national importance. The oldest of the 26 barns still in existence today can be dated to around 1600-1700. The "Humbke", the highest elevation in the area, was chosen as the location. In addition to numerous floods caused by various Weser floods in historical times, a striking number of fires also destroyed the place. The Scheunenviertel is predominantly privately owned. A barn that was renovated in 2012 now serves as an information barn and provides information about the Scheunenviertel and the work of the “Dat Schünenviertel” association.
