Beautiful view of the Plöckenstein Lake (Plešné jezero) below. The lake in the background is the Lipno Reservoir. It is part of the Vltava Cascade (Czech: Vltavská kaskáda) and forms its fourth oldest and highest stage.

Lake Lipno is the largest reservoir that the Czech Republic has to offer. It is part of the Vltava Cascades, a coordinated system of dams that generates energy via power plants, but also protects against flooding. Visitors to Lake Lipno don't notice much of this, they are more likely to notice the many rowing and sailing boats. Huge spruce forests spread out around the lake, surrounded by muddy swamps. This natural landscape is still home to partridges, peregrine falcons, eagle owls, sea eagles, but also badgers and elk. Pike, carp, catfish and crayfish can be found in the lake itself. The region around Lake Lipno is one of the most popular holiday regions in the Czech Republic. Nice, small lake in a beautiful landscape that invites you to take a walk.

This great swimming lake near Klaffer has water that is particularly rich in minerals and is said to be good for the skin and joints. You can relax on the jetty or the spacious meadow with the large trees. There is also a volleyball court, a playground, showers, toilets and a beach buffet.

A great cool down at 30 degrees and the Adalbert Stifter cycle path offers plenty of shade
