01/01/2023 - The Knollteich at Maria-Theresienplatz has become more and more muddy over the last few decades. The restoration began in 2005 - the result is impressive. The Knollteich was completely repaired by HSV Fishing and Casting in 2005. The ongoing flow of water from the Kehrbach (Schwarza) allows the stocking of trout. The Pioneer Pond is located in the middle of the Academy Park. The inflow comes from a small channel that branches off from the Mühlbach. It gets its name from its former purpose: pioneer technical training. Today the Pioneer Pond is stocked with fish and is a breeding ground for wild ducks and other water birds. Please note: Cycling is only permitted on the signposted paths on the Academy grounds. Occasional reprimands from military personnel!
