A long descent into Kizl Oi, the red rock appears and the washboard road gets a little rougher, but the views on this road are totally worth it.

For beginners, here is our main route to Cholpon-Ata Gorge. Start and finish from the checkpoint at the Bars camp site (you can take a taxi for 200-400 soms or by private car) A small distance, an adequate climb, unrealistic beauty - a forest, a mountain river, a cave, a waterfall. The Cave of Mobilization is named after Putin's military mobilization, which allowed many young guys to leave Russia and hide from Putin, as if from bad weather in this cave. There used to be a road here but the landslides no longer allow vehicles through. The path appears and disappears in between the rocks which makes it unridable when going upwards. Most of the time you'll be following a clear river you can drink from. The valley is gorgeous and totally worth the push!

Reliable bridge between the basecamp and Tulparkul lake and yurt camps. Lots of tourists cross this bridge for hikes, so it should be reliable for your planning. This gorge is crossed during the Expedition Alay bikepacking route.

My partner and I cycled this track downhill (south to north) to scout a gravel track to Kashka-Suu. When in the southern part, there's a much better path heading straight east, but it is a dead end due to the river gorge this highlighted section finishes at in the north. From this track, the river gorge is crossable.
