A very good restaurant and hotel in the mountains with excellent Kyrgyz and international cuisine. The hotel has yurt-like rooms (boz üi) and huts in the forest (beshik). Supara with its locations in Kök-Jar set the trend of authentic Kyrgyz cuisine (as opposed to the Uighur cuisine with its lagmans etc.), and still there are not many places in Bishkek that focus on Kyrgyz kitchen.

Possibly this is a camp which is broken down before September but it was empty when we went past and could easily be used to sleep in and the BBQ pit used, once cleaned out.

You can camp here 🏕️, stay overnight in the hut, there is always warm food, something to drink and even WiFi. Of course you can drink the mountain water. For us Germans, the prices are ridiculous, you shouldn't expect great service either, with a little patience and friendliness you can get everything you need. Overnight stay €6, food €7-9, sleeping bag €5 as of 2023

Son Kul Lake is surrounded by the snow-capped mountains and vast steppes, which are also used as a summer pasture by the herdsmen. There is a lot of edelweiss in the meadows. There are numerous yurt camps; prior registration is advisable. In the evening it gets noticeably cool, but then the tents are heated up briefly. Hygiene is not always taken into account.

We stayed here at the Eco-Yurt Camp before riding the horse to Lake Ala-Kul the next day.
