Beautifully located little restaurant. Closed Wed/Thurs. Next to it is a courtyard and a small chapel.

And if the power runs out, it has three universal charging stations.

A nice mountain pub with warm-hearted hosts

Places of execution were mostly outside the village and often on important traffic routes. Higher-lying places were also chosen with preference and the sites were traditionally located in such a way that the condemned's face faced north. This also applied to the Einsiedeln high court. It was on Etzelstrasse, to the left of the forest path, on "Bilgeriweg" or "-strasse" coming from Etzel. According to the woodcut from 1577 in the Wickiana, it consisted of two columns connected by a crossbeam from which a rope hung. On the other side of the path was the Galgenchappeli, a small, open front "Helgenhüsli", in front of which there were benches and in which a low cross was tucked in. At the beginning of the 19th century there was a painting of the beheading of St. John the Baptist. In the "gallows chapel" the condemned could perform their last prayer and received St. Absolution.
