We owe the special beauty of the Rheinsberg Palace Park and the inclusion of the Boberow Forest in this ensemble primarily to the work of Prince Heinrich, who lived in Rheinsberg Palace for almost 50 years, from 1753 to 1802. The place where the forester's house was later built was already one of 7 hermitages that were inhabited for hunting purposes. During the renovation work in autumn 2006, a bundle of newspapers that had been stored as a precaution was found. It is the "Berlinische Nachrichten von Staats- und gelehrten Sachen" from Friday, December 13, 1833. This allows us to determine the year of construction precisely.
