The entire island of Madeira is a marvel of nature, with beautiful flowers and stunning landscapes, and lush vegetation. Beautiful trails, some quite dangerous, along the levadas (irrigation channels) and on the way to the highest peaks of the mountainous areas. 👍🥾

Unfortunately, the Nevada is only nice for people who are sure-footed and have absolutely no fear of heights, as there are passages without any safety equipment.

Much rockier than the Levada Nova above. It is more secured by steel cable railings, but you still have to watch your step. It had rained heavily the night before and there were a lot of puddles. So waterproof shoes are a must here.

Half the route (on the farest point, the route was closed so we never saw the levada tunnels. We were quite dissapointed.
