Going down the stairs is really fun. ⚠️ Of course you have to watch out for pedestrians.

Wonderful stairs to ride down with the fully ... but be careful, when it rains the stairs are unfortunately very slippery

Carl Friedrich Gaus was born in Braunschweig in 1777 and died in Göttingen in 1855.

Hill in Westpark at 92 m above sea level. From the south it goes up a trail and later on a meadow path; approx. 12 m at 300 m max. 15% and from the north via a stairway of approx. 16 m at 200 m with max. 20%.

The Gaussberg is a heap created in 1831 from the remains of the old fortifications

An interesting place with history and quite high for Braunschweig standards. There is a wonderful view and there is also a bench for a break. So it's worth it!

You also have a view of the Ösel, the Harz Mountains with the towering Brocken, the Salzgitter Mountains, the Bodenstedter Berg and Lindenberg. Braunschweig is hiding behind the Steinberg. Historically, it is inglorious that there was an anti-aircraft gun position there in WWII to protect Braunschweig.
