For around 500 years, this watermill has been a prominent feature of the landscape along the rushing Nordradde river in Meppen. The current structure was built in 1732 at the behest of Prince-Bishop Clemens August and once served as a grain mill. After extensive restoration, the mill now presents itself as a picturesque stop on a cycling tour – a perfect spot for a picnic.

The footpath and cycle path along the Hörsteler Aa is recommended because there is a lot to see (nature, animals). It is a tranquil path, partly asphalt, partly firm sand.
