Edgehill Castle (Tower) which is now a rather nice pub/restaurant. The castle was built in the 18th Century as a 'sham' castle reputedly on the exact spot where Charles I raised his standard before the Battle of Edgehill during the first English Civil War. Apparently Cromwell got there too late for the battle.

Guy's Tower is 12-sided and stands at 29 metres high. Dotted around each of the twelve sides are grated machicolations from which rocks and other projectiles could be thrown down upon an enemy attempting to breach the base of the tower.

Warwick Castle was built by William the Conqueror after his victory over King Harold at the Battle of Hastings in 1066. Its first incarnation was a wooden motte and bailey. William entrusted the castle’s construction to Henry de Newburgh, who became the first Earl of Warwick in 1088. Under the de Newburgh family, the wooden castle began to be rebuilt in stone. The Tudor Gatehouse The Gatehouse is the best example of Tudor architecture at Charlecote. Most of the brick and stonework is more than 400 years old. It was built for show rather than defence though. The clock is Victorian and you'll hear it striking during your walk. In the past, the chimes encouraged the estate workers to arrive at work on time.

Really nice castle. The area around this castle is also fine. Directly at the river Avon. So photographers will like this place. Great..Definitely worth a visit..
