This nature reserve is maintained by volunteers. it is very special because it features a chalk stream which are very rare in the world.

Great spot to spend an hour or two. Plenty of wildlife to see and the museum has a cafe with rather unique decoration that's worth visiting.

Wardown Park is the jewel in the crown of Luton’s parks with outstanding features, such as the fountain and boating lake, and a rich history. It is one of seven district parks in Luton, providing a green refuge within walking distance of the town centre. The park provides the setting for Wardown Park Museum and offers a wide range of opportunities for formal and informal recreational activities. The historic significance of the park is acknowledged by its inclusion as Grade II on the English Heritage Register of Historic Parks and Gardens, particularly due to the rarity of the combination of Victorian and Edwardian purpose-built design features that make-up the Park.

Don't miss the numerous Roman sites/sights in the park.

A really beautiful pond here within Pitstone Common, with a newly built (in 2010) platform. The pond has shrunk in size over the years, but it's still a lovely place to be, and in the autumn the colours of the leaves on the trees here are totally gorgeous, only adding to the effect of the place.

Verulamium was the second largest Roman town in Britain, behind Londinium. The remains of the town can be seen in the park, plus an ornamental lake, fed by the River Ver. There is a weekly Park Run here at 9am every Saturday.

Great walks from here that can be short or long. You can also walk to the Pitsone windmill which is the oldest Windmill in the British Isles
