Nutfield Marsh lies in the vale of Holmesdale between the North Downs and the Greensand Ridge and comprises of a series wetland sites - The Moors, Spynes Mere, Holmethorpe Lagoons and Mercer Country Park. I nice spot on the National Cycle Network - it’s a restored Greensand quarry, now managed by Surrey Wildlife Trust.

Weir Wood Reservoir is a Local Nature Reserve and a Site of Special Scientific Interest, protected due to its role as one of the largest areas of open water in Sussex and the bird populations that it supports. There is a bird hide just off Legsheath Lane, along the south bank of the reservoir, with an outlook over the water. The western end of the reservoir is home to the sailing club.

Riverside Garden Park is composed of woodland and grassy glades and has a tranquil lake at its heart. The Gatwick Steam flows through the park. There are plenty of trails to explore, as well as wildlife to observe, including kingfishers.
