Alfred Victor de Vigny, or Count of Vigny, is a poet born March 27, 1797 in Loches. French writer, novelist, playwright and poet. He wrote alongside a military career that began in 1814 and published his first poems in 1822.

Châtillon-sur-Indre is a village of 3,000 inhabitants which dates from around the 9th century. Its rich heritage consists of a castle built in the 13th century, the César Tower, built around 1130 and the Notre-Dame church.

The Royal City consists of a keep and the royal residence. Built from the 11th to the 16th century on a rocky promontory, these monuments are surrounded by a wall. Visits are possible all year round and include the keep, the royal residence, the park and the underground.

This circular chapel built in the 12th century has been restored and decorated. Inside, you will find a remarkable set of frescoes depicting the life of Christ and the Virgin Mary. You can see the interior of this chapel by reserving the keys at the Loches Tourist Office or at the Montrésor Tourist Office.

This pyramid is part of a group of four pyramids aligned along a forest path in the forest of Loches which served as a rallying point for teams of hunters operating in the forest and takes its name from its proximity to the Chartreuse du Liget .
