Breathtaking and impressive views of the surrounding mountains and fjords. Simply magnificent!

Gaustatoppen is several hundred meters higher than the surrounding mountains, and during the last ice age the peak rose above the ice sheet like a nunatak. Frost heaving over thousands of years has caused the mountain's surface to crack into blocks that now lie loose, forming a "block sea". But that's just on the outside. Just below the surface is solid rock, almost the hardest rock there is. That's why the peak is so high.

A popular and straightforward route that features a hefty amount of elevation gain. However, two rewards await you at the summit. First, there are the magnificent views of the mountains of the mountains of Telemark, Buskerud, and the Oslomarka. Second, there's the thrilling run back down.

Reaching the summit of Øyensteinnatten rewards you with spectacular panoramic views over rolling hills, deep valleys, and distant peaks. The wide-open landscape makes you feel on top of the world, with nature stretching endlessly around you.

In summer for running and in winter with the spectacular track. Both are great fun

The waffles are delicious. In the summer you can walk up and down, of course, and in the winter a ride on the train is very exciting!

I went down there on alpine skis once. Such a wonderful experience!!
