In 1890, the Swedish Tourist Association (STF) built a tourist cabin with overnight accommodation at the Njoammelsaskam - Harspänget waterfall. At the same time, the hiking trail between Gallivare - PorjusHarspranget was created. There, tourists could marvel at the mighty and untamed waterfalls along the upper part of the Great Lule River.
