The Wildenauersteig (D, 1+) on the Hohe Wand is an old, classic via ferrata that works almost entirely without steel cable insurance. The climb is impressive because of its steepness and the spectacular vertical cave, the exit of which you can only squeeze through with your backpack removed. The Frauenluckensteig is a very original and delightful via ferrata delicacy in the central part of the Hohe Wand. The climax of the climb is the bold iron ladder through the so-called Frauenlucke, a 15 m high, vertical cave shaft.

Not easy to find from above, but much more fun to climb from below anyway. First up the vertical wall over iron bars, then along a small wooden platform and the climax is a long ladder through a vertical "tunnel"! Especially for children (with a little experience and secured, if still small) unforgettable.

Contrary to all articles in many forums where this climb is described as suitable for children, I advise against it. And if someone absolutely wants to conquer this with their children, then only with security !! A safety rope should be carried for children. Conclusion: The Frauenluckensteig is a spectacular, psychologically demanding, but also short thing, embedded in the wonderful woman. Very eventful. A good opportunity to practice securing with a rope again.
