Between 1840 and 1846, a building on the Grand Place, on the banks of the lake, was transformed into one of the most important neo-Gothic buildings in Vaud and even a pioneering work for the whole of Switzerland. The Château de l'Aile stands on the site of the former Halles de Vevey which, by consonance, were the origin of the Aile, the sign of the inn belonging to this commercial building from 1545. The property was sold by the municipality to Adam Chastelain in 1680. The building was then rebuilt as a turreted pleasure castle - with a wider tower on the axis of the north facade.

The Château de Montagny is a wine estate located on the terraces of Lavaux. It overlooks Lake Geneva and offers breathtaking views of the Alps. The estate has belonged to the Pernet family since 1912 and covers 12 hectares of vines. This estate produces both red and white wines, some of which are made from Chasselas. Blonay Castle was built in 1175 by Wilhelm II von Blonay and is still inhabited by his descendants today. The oldest part of the complex that still exists is the mighty keep from the time it was founded, which was later increased again. Two of the former four corner towers are still today.

On the heights of Vevey, the castle overlooks Blonay. It stands on a rock at 646 meters, at the foot of the Pleiades. A place whose Roman origins - the site of Bloniacus - has probably given its name to the family as to the fortress. Originally, late twelfth century, the local lords, from Savoy and where they remain vassals, became, by decision of the bishop of Lausanne, owners of the town of Vevey and the village of Corsier.

The castle of Blonay belonged to the family of this name from the beginning of the feudal period until now, except from 1752 to 1806, as will be seen later. The seigniory of which it was the center, extended not only on the localities which form today the commune of Blonay, but also during two periods (1092-1342 and 1563 to 1680 approximately) on that of St-Légier- La Chiésaz . In 1558, there were 133 fires. As for the family of Blonay it was one of the most important and probably the oldest of the Pays de Vaud. It goes back, according to most of our historians, to Lord Othon who lived shortly after the year 1000.
