Nice tour, just take the train to Maymorn. Then a slight climb to the summit and a very long descent to Cross Creek. Then it's easier to cycle out to Featherston. Return here by train. Alternatively, take the car to the starting point. Shuttle back from Royal Hotel at 2:15 p.m.

Fantastic walk which is only 20min out of Wellington. Not for people who are afraid of heights.

Stairs glorious stairs. The view is amazing at the top.

It's the old highway, so not that busy anymore and the bike path starts here and is really worth seeing after Wellington

Swingbridge for walking and cycling constructed next to the railway line.

I know, it's impressive but it is this bridge that must be crossed. It's the one and only route to Wellington. So take your courage in both hands and Ride On! Do not be afraid. Looking closely, you will notice that the bridge is held together by strong metal cables.
