Beautiful castle and a nice place for sundowns

We were there at exactly the right time and were able to follow the changing of the guard.

Wonderful castle, definitely visit from the inside. The crown jewels are in the cellar vault!

It's possible to walk around it if you don't want to pay an entrance fee. The rest is immediately military territory and guarded by the royal guards.

The daily changing of the guard takes place at 12 noon

Good place to take a rest and possibly eat some food. There are benches around the castle and a public toilet.

Christiansborg Palace is one of the most famous sights in Copenhagen. The imposing building is located in the south of the Danish capital on the castle island of Slotsholmen. The almost 100 meter high castle tower can be seen from afar and towers high over the roofs of the metropolis. Christiansborg Palace was once the seat of the Danish royal family. Today, not only Parliament meets in this magnificent building, but also the Supreme Court and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The royal family still uses some of the premises for representative purposes.

One of the most beautiful sightseeing tips in Copenhagen is the Amalienborg Palace. Today it is owned by the Danish royal family and used as a city residence by Queen Margrethe II. You can tell whether she is currently residing in the Palais by the flag hoisted on the Palais Schack. When she is present, she is guarded day and night by her bodyguard.
