As you cycle through the beautiful Cévennes National Park, you’ll discover the impressive Cirque de Navacelles. This natural amphitheatre, carved out by the winding River Vis, is a breathtaking sight. As you cycle along the rim of the cirque, you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views of the deep canyon, lush forests and the charming village of Navacelles nestled below.

Small village at the bottom of the gorges, beautiful view and little traffic out of season.

Here the vis is dry, but you can see its resurgence 4.5 km away. Camping possible 2 euros per night per person. Spend the night there to cycle back in the fresh air.

Park your bike at the end of the trail, walk 5 mins to the bottom of the rocky peak and climb the boulder, it's worth it! Especially after the rather unattractive ascent through the forest.

After the ascent through the forest, a detour on foot with easy rock climbing to the summit is worthwhile

The Roc Nantais is a rock in the shape of a monumental tower dominating the Dourbie at 808m. It obviously offers a magnificent viewpoint from which to admire the Larzac and the foothills of the Cévennes (on the left), the St-Alban (opposite) and the Causse des Cuns (on the right).

At an altitude of 1366m, the Saint-Guiral was a crossing point of the Trail des Templiers. Today it is an emblematic summit of the Trail des Hospitaliers.

This village is unique in that it lies between three causses: Larzac, Campestre, and Blandas. It is also located upstream from the Navacelles cirque and along the banks of the Vis River. If you're a fan of the famous Roquefort cheese, you should know that its milk comes partly from the milk of local sheep produced in the La Baute sheepfold.
