The area consists of a series of picturesque ponds surrounded by lush forests and grasslands. The ponds, originally created by human activity, are now an important refuge for birds and other wildlife.

The Julienne ponds are part of the domain of the same name, after the stream that runs there. The Julienne joins other, smaller streams before ending up in the Meuse, which is much lower. A beautiful area, nice for walking around the ponds and in the woods (with some serious calf bites) and enjoying the flowing Julienne. The ponds and the domain are located at the castle of Argenteau, which looks down on the Meuse on a rock. In the area you will find various facilities such as a playground, restaurants and more.
