Lake Izé is pretty

It is the castle which gave its name to the town. Only the fortifications remain. These ramparts are more than a thousand years old and were built in the 11th century.

The Étang de Curécy is a beautiful pond which was once part of a series of seven ponds belonging to the Bellebranche Abbey. The monks practiced fish farming there. Today, these ponds serve as a refuge for migratory birds. A small observatory located on the shore and accessible to all allows you to appreciate the view of the water and the surrounding vegetation. The Curécy Pond is part of a larger natural area which includes the Bellebranche forest and its bocage, where rare plants and animals can be found.

The Étang de la Grande Courbe is a former gravel pit transformed into a fishing reservoir for black bass and offers beautiful views of the water, forest and wildlife. You can also visit the Château de la Grande Courbe, a remarkable medieval castle with towers and gardens.

At the Etang de la Rincerie, you can enjoy the view of the water, the forest and the wildlife, particularly the birds that inhabit the western part of the lake, which is a protected ornithological reserve. You can also take advantage of the facilities and activities offered by the La Rincerie Leisure Center, such as swimming, sailing, kayaking, paddle boarding, etc.

The Etang du Gué de Selle has been around for a long time, unlike many artificial ponds in France. It is mentioned as early as 1498. As you walk around the pond, you will see abundant flora and fauna. The pond is a migratory stopover for birds and you may be able to observe a nationally protected species, the shoreline of the pond.

Surrounded by trees, this lake is a place where you can sit, take a break and enjoy nature. Take the path that goes around the lake and observe it from all angles. The shores of the lake also have a picnic bench, shelter and benches to sit on.
