You have to look carefully, somewhat "unobtrusively," to see "where" the sign hangs on the tree. It's best to start looking at approximately the highest points.

"At 517 m above sea level, the Windhahn is the highest elevation in the northern Hellerbergland region of Siegerland, a mountain range often also called Windhahn, on the north-eastern border of Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia. It is separated by the Niederschelden-Betzdorfer Siegtal, the Sieg, from the Giebelwald, which adjoins to the north-west, and by the Middle Hellertal of the Heller from the Southern Hellerbergland, which adjoins to the south. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windhahn When I hiked over Windhahn at the end of January '22, almost the entire mountain slope was bare. 😟 Probably a result of the past (drought) summers and the bark beetle. The only good thing about it (?) is the almost unobstructed view far into Siegerland... 😎

Up here the view is just amazing. You can look far into the Siegerland (Brachbach, Mudersbach, Eiserfeld with bridge, Siegen) and the paths are good. I can highly recommend it. I uploaded a video on Google 360 degrees. Just great this view. You can see almost the whole valley from Kirchen-Freusburg to Siegen.

The Giebelbergkreuz is at this point, but it is not a lookout point, there is "only" forest. There is also no view from the Giebelberg itself.

There are now many new views from up here. Many bare areas characterize the slopes in the direction of Niederfischbach.

For this view it is always worthwhile to dare to climb the Windhahn. Less than 15 to 20 minutes from the Ottoturm.
