The monastery is dedicated to the Virgin Mary, the island's patron saint. It houses an ecclesiastical museum, a small naval museum, and a small zoo in the garden. The monastery was built in 1634 and rebuilt to its original state after a fire in 1887.

Unfortunately there is no water in the off-season. But the gorge is still worth seeing. There is a large parking lot. Sturdy shoes are advisable.

In the off-season, a completely deserted and beautiful beach with crystal-clear water. Access via private property but apparently permitted by the owner. There is an access gate which was closed in the off-season (November). To the left of it, however, there is a path which you can use to bypass the gate. There is even a shower above the beach. In the high season, however, the whole thing seems to be a little different in terms of access and crowds………

You can also take another route back from the cafe. Very steep at first, but then a nice path and down via hard road.

You have to walk through private property, which is closed off with a large blue gate. This is only open for pedestrians from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
