The old town of Boyce was first settled in the 1800s and remains small with a population of roughly 1,000 people. There are old buildings and old architecture, and the downtown streets aren't usually too crowded with cars, so it can be fun to just ride through the middle of the city.

Lake Rodemacher is a pretty big lake (over 3,000 acres) in Louisiana. It seems like a huge bog since it isn't very deep (its deepest spots reach down 25 feet), but this private lake is full of fish home to many different species of birds. The roadway features a few bridges and raised platforms to keep the road well above the water.

The Alexandria Air Force Base was renamed and repurposed as the England Air Force Base in 1955. These replica fighter planes serve as a historical and educational monument of WWII. It's just off the side of your road, so you barely have to hop off your bike to check it out.

Old Boyce Highway connects the towns of Boyce and Alexandria and offers some sporadic views of the Red River. The interstate is a more common option for cars, so there usually isn't a ton of traffic on this road.
