The Aartalsee lake is worth a visit for starters. Even on weekends, it's less busy. You can observe all kinds of birds.

The bridge separates the pre-dam from the main dam and, apart from the dam wall, is the only way to change sides of the lake without having to go around the entire lake.

Very nice path on the bank. If possible, avoid using the northern parallel path during peak times or push your bike. It's much more pleasant than slalom driving and the pedestrians will thank you 😉

Great mountain bike destination with good rest stops around the lake. However, on Sundays and public holidays, especially in good weather, it is totally overcrowded.
