The Bruder Klaus Church at Hubertussee is a small, atmospherically situated Catholic church on the northern shore of the lake in Walstern near Mariazell. Built in 1966/67, it is dedicated to Saint Nicholas of Flüe, also known as Brother Klaus. The simple architecture blends harmoniously into the surrounding landscape, with the stained-glass windows depicting scenes from the saint's life and the striking iron entrance portal adding distinctive touches.

Actually, it is the "gate" of the road around the lake. From here, you can go around it from the right or left, or even do a circular hike. You don't have to prepare for a long hike, because the loop is 2.4 km.

A shady rest area with a table and benches. Unfortunately, you're not allowed to ride a bike in the Ultra Marathon. The inconspicuous Bärenlacke is located a little further down.

The Waldsee was created artificially in 1906 by damming the White Alster. Margarete Krupp had thought of the reservoir as a gift for her husband Arthur for their silver wedding anniversary. Since he was an enthusiastic hunter, the lake was called "Hubertussee".

Arthur Krupp had a life-size figure of St. Margaret erected on the bridge in honor of his wife Magret.

Lake Hubertus is the perfect place for a rest or a refreshing dip. Across the lake, you can enjoy wonderful views of the mountain panorama from anywhere. There's also plenty to discover along its shores: including the Hubertus Chapel, which watches over the lake, the spring of the same name, and the impressive dam.
