The idyllic Hundsbach Falls await hikers amidst the Tormäuer gorge landscape. This small waterfall is easily accessible on foot from the Eibenboden nature park entrance.

Loud, roaring water at the weir. A beautiful sight, complete with a captivating soundscape. Take a short break and soak in the view. It's well worth it. The weir in Scheibbs on the Erlauf River was built in 1822 and originally served to harness the river's water power for Andreas Töpper's iron and sheet metal works. It was a crucial component of the town's industrial development, making the Erlauf's natural energy technically usable. In 1959, the weir was modernized to continue providing water power for turbines and industrial purposes. Today, it stands as a testament to the historical use of river energy in Scheibbs and is a significant engineering structure in the region.

A beautifully landscaped footbridge through the Mendlingtal. From above you can admire the impressive natural spectacle with thundering waterfalls in the gorge.

On the way to the Elraufufer you pass the Hundsbach Falls. Along the way there is always the opportunity to descend to the water. But be careful it is very slippery.

The Trefflingfall is the largest waterfall in Lower Austria and is definitely worth a hike into the front gate walls
