For us, this was the most beautiful place to stay overnight on the Montañas Vacías circuit! Even though we had minus 2 degrees and fog in the morning - mid-May :)

Fairly large shelter, with two picnic tables inside (large), windows, and plenty of space around to put mats and sleep. It does not have a fireplace. It is in a recreational area, with a fountain and picnic tables also outside. The lagoon is close, and you can hear many birds. Very quiet and very pleasant area.

We had a small, simple, very clean and quiet twin room in a cozy and warm hostel with several common rooms. The hosts are very nice and helpful. It is possible to have lunch and dinner in addition to breakfast. The typical Spanish lunch menu prepared by Elena, which we ate every day, was very tasty and varied and is highly recommended. For your own food preparation, there is a dining room with a refrigerator, toaster, microwave, dishes and cutlery. We were able to park our tandem safely at the hostel. In just a few minutes walk you are in the old town. We were very happy that we were able to wait out the bad weather for several days in this hostel during Holy Week 2024.

Excellent cabin enabled as a free refuge where you can spend the night. With fireplace, door that closes well and good insulation. There are no water sources very close.

Small refuge located in a meadow with a beautiful landscape of the Sierra del Atazar. Ideal for resting covered from the sun and heat halfway through the route.

The free refuge of San Lorenzo has a few bunk beds and a fireplace. It is located right next to the hermitage of San Lorenzo, on the Tagus Nature Trail.

Is it possible to sleep inside? It would be to spend the night touring the track Montañas Vacías

This location was used as a camp for the team of the naturalist and creator of the "Man and the Earth" program.
