TECHNICAL DATA The visible height of the water tower is 30.40 m. The basement is located below ground at a depth of 2.50 m. This contains the gate valve, water meter, supply line, check valve, and various elbows. The water tower is divided into 7 floors. In the mid-1950s, many Kister houses often lacked the necessary water pressure. On days with high water consumption, and in the upper village, the water supply was insufficient. In cooperation with the Bavarian State Office for Water Supply and Water Protection and an engineering firm from Nuremberg, a solution was found: the construction of a water tower. CONSTRUCTION Otto Seubert, former Kister mayor, reported on the positive negotiations regarding the land acquisition for the necessary tower site at the municipal council meeting on March 14, 1959. On January 30, 1960, the building application was submitted to the municipal council for approval. The contract for the execution of the work was approved on March 5, 1960. The contract was awarded to a Munich company at the bid price of 249,472.28 Deutsche Marks (DM).

According to the confirmation of the Episcopal Ordinariate on July 15, 1854, the later union of Kist with Kleinrinderfeld was a union based on equality before the law, through which the previously existing legal conditions were not changed, as a result of which Kist still has its own parish seal and parish register and the pastor of Kleinrinderfeld has called himself "Pastor of Kleinrinderfeld and Kist" until recent times. If one bases this view of a union based on equality before the law, which is said to have taken place in the 17th century, it can therefore be said that at that time two independent parishes still existed and the pastor of Kleinrinderfeld was also the pastor of Kist in personal union, but a chaplain was nevertheless assigned to the Kist parish. After the parish was granted the status of an Expositure [1] in 1890 and as such was assigned to the parish of St. Martin, it regained its legal independence in 1952.

Kist originally belonged to the original parish of Tauberbischofsheim before being elevated to its own parish in 1423. In any case, this first parish existed at the latest since 1487, since in that year the parish of Kist was designated as the easternmost in the Taubergau district chapter of the Archdiocese of Mainz, to which it belonged until after the Thirty Years' War in 1656. As a result, there was legal uncertainty regarding the parish's status. It is confirmed that from 1780 onward, chaplains from the parish of St. Martin (Kleinrinderfeld) served as pastors in Kist. A letter from the royal government of Lower Franconia and Aschaffenburg dated May 3, 1870, provides clarity: "The alleged branch status of the church in Kist is unfounded.
