The views from both Great Links and Brat Tor are incredible. On a clear day you can see both the North Coast and South Coast as well as Bodmin Moor. The River Lyd stepping stone crossing is nice but there is still a wooden bridge crossing if you are a little unsteady on your feet.

This tor is just a stone's throw from the nearby car park and towers over Dartmoor. Very impressive, good for a short tour, as a starting point for visiting other tors, for a picnic (depending on the unpredictable weather here 😉) or recently also for climbing (you could see a few people free climbing - but I can't say for sure whether it's allowed) and for treasure hunts. Otherwise just beautiful nature and (outside of tourist times) nice and quiet.

It is a distinctive rock, not only for its magnificent views, but also for its huge rock pool at the summit, formed by the weathering of weakened feldspar crystals. The first impression of this simple but solidly crafted small sacred monument from 1887 is powerful and imposing. The lonely stone cross can be seen from afar thanks to its exposed location. The ancient, venerable cross is a natural part of this environment and one could almost think that it is literally growing out of the rock from which it rises to a proud height.
