The Town Hall was built in 1338 as the seat of the Old Town's local government. The oldest Gothic part of the complex is a beautiful tower with a bay window chapel and the unique Apostles' Clock, on which twelve apostles appear every hour (9:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.). The eastern, neo-Gothic wing of the Town Hall was destroyed on May 8, 1945 during the Prague Uprising and has not been rebuilt.
