Lilienstein can be seen from afar and is recognizable as a landmark.

From the customs houses, you're only allowed to continue without a motor. The route is partly gravel, but basically doable with a racing bike if you're a bit more robust.

The Carola Bridge was built in 1874-77 for the Sebnitz Valley Railway from Bautzen to Bad Schandau. In addition to rail traffic, it also made it possible for road traffic to cross the Elbe. From 1977, road traffic was led over a separate bridge. In 1990, the railway's half-timbered bridge was replaced by a tied-arch bridge. Due to the damage discovered in 2024 and the subsequent closure of the road bridge, it is being examined whether the Carola Bridge can be temporarily made suitable for road traffic again.
