Unfortunately, once you arrive at the crossroads that would lead to Gumuscesme and then to Tas Yolu, it is not possible to access the ancient stone road due to a landslide. The road can only be visited by entering from Kemaliye.

Amazing road worth the effort. Lots of climbs on unpaved road. Then it becomes paved but the climb to durukoy is very steep. Then gravel again but more manageable than the beginning. The colors of the rocks and the landscape make you forgive the intensity of the road. We camped by the river there is also a house with water. The train passes there which is crazy to see at night among these rocks.

Plan tour for early fall. Temperatures between September and the end of October are usually very pleasant. From Ayvalik to Van I had a pleasant 15-20*C average over the entire route.

Next to the restaurant Mola you can camp. The sunset over the lake is gorgeous. the place is very quiet at night because the owner closes the fence at night. Local people will leave around 20u. No traffic noise. Very basic bathroom, no shower but possibility to swim in the lake. Picknick tables are everywhere. Food and drinks available in the restaurant. We paid the owner 100 TL for 2 persons and tent. Local people are very likely to share food with you 😋

Toilet and water near the mosque, shade and some running chicken. There's also a playground for kids. Very tiny village.
