The Taşhan, one of the symbols of the city, definitely deserves to be at the top of your list of sights to see. The Taşhan is also considered one of the largest city caravanserais in Anatolia. This impressive han, the construction of which began in 1626, also shows influences of typical Ottoman architecture. The two-storey building has a rectangular plan. The Taşhan belongs to the caravanserais with an open courtyard and is located on Gaziosmanpaşa Boulevard. The construction was completed after six years. Today, this historical han has no less than 103 different rooms. The small shops here mainly focus on traditional crafts or various workshops. You will find the oldest coppersmiths, antique dealers and ceramicists in the city here.

Sulu Sokak Caddesi, together with Halit Sokak one of the most touristic streets of Tokat, carries the historical identity of the city within itself. When you walk along this street, you will find yourself in the vicinity of especially the historical Tokat houses, shrines, a han (caravanserai), mosques and medreses. The Yağıbasan Medrese, the Latifoğlu House, the Atatürk House, the Mevlevihane of Tokat and the Sultan Bathhouse are all located directly on this street. The Tokat Clock Tower is also very close to Sulu Sokak Caddesi. This authentic area, which forms the old city center, has managed to retain its character to this day. This long street with a historical origin of 900 years houses Tokat houses that are very similar to the houses in Safranbolu. There is public transportation to this popular area from almost every part of the city.

One at 1350 m above sea level. M lying high plateau with a few restaurants, gas station and several kiosks (very small supermarkets)… ideal for a short break. Surrounded by fir forests... what the name “Çamiçi” (Pine Inside) already suggests...
