'Hole in the Wall’ (Te Kotere o te Whenua), a narrow coastal cliff ridge, with an impressive sea arch formed by the sea cutting its way through a narrow passage.

This bluff overlooks the bay at East cape, and is a fantastic place to stop and enjoy the view, watch the seals, horses and the ancient pohutukawa trees. The lighthouse itself is not currently accessible so this is a good a place as any to see the cape.

Very nice short hike to a secluded bay with Cook Monument...worth it!

Very nice short hike! Well worth it... The campsite on site is also highly recommended! Right on a beautiful beach and very quiet... Have fun hiking and swimming in the bay! :-)

Really cool spot, long wharf extending into the bay. Cycling on wharf not permitted… I got away with it. Signs with history, picnic tables, toilets and campground nearby.

You have to be early in the morning. On 9th of December the sunrise is at 5.37, so be there on 5.15 and you can see an amazing sunrise!
