There are beautiful views of the surrounding area. The guided tour provides interesting information about the castle. The tour lasts approximately 40 minutes; unfortunately, you won't be able to enter the castle interior without a guide. Photography is permitted inside. You can access the castle on foot or by bus from the bus station. The castle is not wheelchair accessible.

Breathtaking view of the Reichsburg Castle in Cochem. You won't forget it.

The view of Cochem and its castle is beautiful, if only there weren't overtourism: there were 4 large river cruise ships there at the same time and hundreds of cars parked on the banks, not to mention coaches - meaning thousands of tourists in the small town. So very, very loud, hectic and exhaust fumes and diesel in the air. Unfortunately, it's no longer a romantic place - at least not here in August 2024.

Cochem with the Reichsburg is a beautiful little town. However, there was flooding where we were and the cycle path either disappeared in the water or the city workers were clearing away the dirt.
