Büren aA is worth seeing. A jewel. It has a great history and houses, bridges and banks of the Aare that are worth seeing. A great place to stop for a break.

Krummturm, Solothurn The Krummturm is a medieval defensive tower in the city of Solothurn. The exact start of construction is not known, but the tower was completed in 1462/63. Although the name suggests a crooked building, this is not correct. Only the roof appears crooked from most sides. The strange roof shape is the result of the irregular pentagon of the tower's floor plan. On the lowest floor there is a 10-meter-deep dungeon in which criminals were once imprisoned. The castle is a small gem, with - as already described - a beautiful view of the Alpine chain. In front of it there is a nice restaurant with a small "green" garden. Very nice for the biker break in between.

Since the 13th century, a wooden bridge has connected the historic Büren with the district of Reiben north of the Aare. Since then, the wooden structure has been destroyed eight times by floods, ice flows or fire. The medieval town is worth a visit.
