The drive to the official parking lot in Holzachsegga is an adventure in itself. The road is so narrow on the steep slope that even an oncoming bicycle wouldn't be able to pass. If there's oncoming traffic, you have to reverse for long stretches. From the parking lot, it's only a few minutes' walk to the gorge, which is truly breathtaking. Those with a bit more time can skip the parking lot and climb from the valley floor.

Down below you can build dams and even swim 🏊

🚗 Getting there: The Lower Engstligen Falls is easy to reach from Adelboden. You can get there by car or public transport. There are plenty of parking spaces at the valley station of the Engstligenalpbahn. 🚶‍♂️ Hike: A well-marked hiking trail leads from the car park to the Lower Engstligen Falls. The hike is easy and takes about 30 minutes. The trail is suitable for all ages. 🌳 Nature experience: The Lower Engstligen Falls is one of the highest waterfalls in Switzerland and plunges a total of 600 meters into the depths in two stages.

The Via Ferrata Chäligang is a via ferrata near Adelboden.🌄🏔️ 🚗 Getting there: The starting point of the Via Ferrata Chäligang is near Adelboden at the valley station of the Engstligenalp. You can arrive by car or public transport. Parking spaces are available. 🧗 Equipment: For the Via Ferrata you need via ferrata equipment, including a climbing harness, helmet, via ferrata set and sturdy, non-slip shoes. The equipment can also be rented at the valley station. The cost is 24 CHF for adults and 42 CHF including the descent. 🌳 Via ferrata: The Via Ferrata Chäligang takes you through rock faces and offers spectacular views of the Engstligental and the surrounding mountains. The path is well secured and offers various secured climbing passages. 🛤️ Difficulty: The Via Ferrata Chäligang is classified as category B and is therefore suitable for inexperienced climbers and beginners, as well as families with children. However, a good level of fitness and no fear of heights are a prerequisite.

Nice walk, but if you can walk in one direction, you prefer not to encounter oncoming traffic. But walking back down is also beautiful and very easy to do
