The mill wheel of the old watermill “Gremsmühle” in the Schwentine river gives its name and is the landmark of the Malente district of Gremsmühlen.

Originally built of fieldstones, it was repeatedly extended with bricks... The different construction phases are still recognizable today.

Good asphalt and relatively little traffic outside of rush hour. The mandatory cycle/pedestrian path has many confusing sections with sharp corners; it's only suitable for use towards Schönwalde (uphill). It's downhill towards Kasseedorf, and you can easily travel 50-60 km/h on the road.

Next to the Elisabeth Tower is the 179 m high Bungsberg radio tower, which was built between 1975 and 1977. From the tower's free-to-access observation platform at a height of 40 m, you can see large parts of Schleswig-Holstein as well as parts of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and the Baltic Sea in good visibility conditions.

First mentioned in a document in 1240, the church in Schönwalde is a fieldstone church built by Benedictine monks during the colonial period. At that time, fieldstone churches were built in several places in East Holstein. The oldest item in the church's inventory is the pulpit carved from oak.
