The Château de Saint-Germain, dating from the 11th century, is an old fortified castle whose ruins still remain on the site. It is located 460 meters above the Albarine valley, on a promontory which gives it strategic importance. As a result, the castle underwent numerous seizures in an attempt to take control of it.
